Like many people I started my bowhunting career in the lower 48 as a way to extend my time hunting. Back then our hunting season was only two weeks long and our bow season was 3 months long! Once I took up hunting with a bow it took me three years to tag my first deer. Despite the extra challenge I stuck with it and have now been fortunate enough to hunt much of the lower 48, Canada and Africa.
It was always a dream of mine to move to Alaska and that chance came in 2012 and I relocated to Palmer. Once here I sought out the Alaskan Bowhunters Association and quickly became a member and ultimately got on the board of directors.
It is my hope that we can grow the ABA and increase our presence in the bow hunting community. We are actively seeking input from you, our members on issues that concern you. We have tremendous hunting opportunities here and the ABA has consistently attended the Board of Game Meetings to fight for expanding those opportunities.
We also invite you to attend our annual banquet and fill out the Curt Lynn Arrowhead Award form for recognition of your bowhunting accomplishments.
