I am proud to join the Alaskan Bowhunters Association as the Marketing Director and Board Secretary as of Fall 2018. My husband and I first visited Alaska over the summer of 2014 and it honestly changed our lives to put more focus on taking time to enjoy life and creating a stronger work – life balance. Fast forward ten months to May 2015 and we made the move and started our dream in Alaska!
I was born and raised in Panama City, Florida and began hunting at age 5. My father taught me to hunt squirrels first and then I was introduced to fox hunting, then deer and hogs. My love of archery came after I saw an archery shoot at an Outdoor show and I picked up a bow and knew immediately that was my new love.
I ordered my first bow, a BowTech Admiral, and the day UPS delivered it, I cancelled plans for that evening and immediately started target practice in hopes I could be ready for the fall Ohio bow season. I had been watching a ten point all spring and summer and decided he was ‘the one’ and the hunt was on. My bio pic included is of him vs an Alaskan kill because he represents when my love of bowhunting exploded!
It is an honor to be on the ABA Board of Director’s and I am proud of what ABA represents. It is imperative that Alaskan bow hunters, and all hunters, have our hunting rights protected. I work closely with Alaska Fish and Game and want to ensure we continue educating our youth and new bow hunters.
